Third, get a complex damage mod on that *****.
I got a basic advanced heavy (cause I was smart enough to go Commando suit), standard HMG, M1 grenades, basic armor rep, enhanced shield extender and cardiac regulator.
I'm fkn crushin it! i have about 590 armor and 620 shield, i do squat, i have a tiny rep on my adv suit only repping 3 Hps but i have enhanced dmg mod and adv hmg
Do tell how you managed 620 shields while running a damage modifier? |

I don't think any honest REAL heavy player is going to complain about where the HMG is at. I regularly put up 30+ kill matches with an advanced HMG on a Dren suit. My K/D ratio has risen tremendously since I switched to heavy with Uprising. The HMG could use a quality of life buff here and there. I "think" we are getting one next patch, but that remains to be seen. Any weakness with the heavy lies in the suit and the user. But, we are getting a little love for the suit in 1.4 as well. So, the weakness is going to lie squarely on the user.
The HMG is an absolute terror in close combat. The aiming fixes and the turn speed fixes are going to make it MORE of a terror. I'm convinced that bad heavy players are just like bad tank players. They stand there thinking they should be nigh invincible. This is simply not the case. I shall include a few pointers below for you.
1) Yes, proficiency matters. Spend your SP to get that to 5 as soon as your core skills are in order. 2) Yes, core matters. Get your core armor and shield skills up ASAP. 1000 EHP without the first armor plate is beastly. 3) Yes, Damage Modifiers matter. Complex mods as soon as 1 and 2 are in order imo. 4) Yes, you have to take cover. Bullets are hella dangerous! 5) Yes, you have to strafe, albeit more slowly, like the assault players. 6) Yes, you are the problem if you can't put up big scores in PUB matches.
Example Pub Stomp Suit (Remember: Full core armor/shield and proficiency 5)
Dren Sentinel (Basic Sentinel will do just as well at a slightly higher cost) Highs - Complex Damage Modifier (But, But, shield extenders... NO) Lows - Cardiac Regulator Blueprint, 2x Blue Print armor Reps Sidearm - Blueprint SMG Heavy Weapon - MH-82 Heavy Machine Gun Grenades - Blue Print
Sub 20k isk suit that destroys people. Many 40+ kill with less than 10 death matches with this bad boy. Your mileage may vary.
